Nikan Salari is an Iranian filmmaker, film editor, video artist, and photographer born in Tehran and currently based in Berlin, Germany. He studied Performing Arts and Dramatic Literature at the University of Arts Tehran before continuing his education at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Germany, where he completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in film editing.
With a strong focus on documentary filmmaking, he is particularly interested in experimental and installation-based films, exploring new ways to blend storytelling with audio-visual experimentation. He is currently researching how filmmaking can be used as a therapeutic tool in media education. Several projects he has worked on have been recognized at international festivals and have won various awards.
Nikan has been active as an editing tutor and has organized film workshops for children in collaboration with“ Kinderfilmuni Babelsberg” (a project launched by the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF) to introduce young audiences to the world of cinema.
